How is your mental health?

Today is World Mental Health Day, and the world has definitely taken a toll on our mental health. Mental health refers to one's overall emotional, psychological, and social well-being, influencing how a person thinks, feels, acts, handles stress, relates to others, and makes choices. It is more than just the absence of a mental illness; rather, it's a positive state of well-being that enables individuals to cope with life's challenges, realize their potential, and contribute to their community. Mental health is important at every stage of life and is influenced by biological, environmental, and socioeconomic factors. Simple lifestyle changes are really all you need to feel better. One simple thing that I offer to help your mental health is Accessible Guidance, my monthly membership program aimed at arming you with tools as you need them, in the moment. In this fast paced world, we sometimes require immediate assistance and clarity. This is my way to help more people who may feel that they have limited time and need some guidance navigating what is coming up in the moment. For those of you who want access to me on the regular, but don't have time to schedule a full session, this option provides you with an (almost) immediate response to guide you through your situation so that you can go back to enjoying your day to day life freely. This is meant to be a laser focused guidance system to get you back on track regardless of what you may be going through. Chats will be recorded in Whatsapp, so you will always be able to go back and access the advice and tools given at any time when a similar problem arises. The goal in this is to grow your confidence and awareness so that you will be able to handle stressful situations as they arise in the future. One of the best things to do for your mental health is to just breathe. This is the fastest way to regulate your nervous system when stress, anxiety, or depression starts creeping in. The quicker you are tuned into what is happening with your body as it pertains to the mind, the faster you can take action to reduce these feelings. It is important to feel all your emotions, but that process generally takes about 90 seconds or so. When you start ruminating on those emotions is when things can get out of control- this is where you allow your mind to run wild with thoughts that generally are not based in truth.
