It may be a challenging day...

It may be a challenging day...

but you can always look on the bright side!

We get to choose
The beautiful thing about life, is that it is always changing. Nothing will ever remain the same, and the sooner we can accept that as truth, the better we are able to cope with it. The bottom line is, we do decide how we want to deal with situations that arise. We can choose to do nothing (which is invariably a choice in itself), or we can take action to change things. We get to pick our mood as to whether or not we allow something that has happened to bother us for the entire day (days, weeks, months, or even years) or we can end the cycle of constant complaining and let it go. Most people have a problem with this. However, the more energy we pour into a matter, the more it tends to matter. So I suggest on this day of challenges, where the life-giving Sun joins up with sobering Saturn for their annual summit, to simply make a choice: accept what is and move on (through it), or come up with a plan to change your circumstances. This once-a-year conjunction can feel like an annual inspection as you run your bright ideas through a series of stress tests, which may turn up some harsh realities. But that doesn't necessarily mean it's an unlucky day! With the right balance of Sun energy (radiance, heat, sparkle and brilliance) and Saturn energy (caution, cool-headedness, modesty and expertise), your diligent efforts could finally pay off. This means that both planets express their powers through the traits of this zodiac sign. This year, the gathering is in watery, mystical Pisces (it was last year, too, on February 28, 2024). Some of those traits are creative, empathetic, generous, compassionate, romantic, escapist, artistic, emotional, intuitive, sensitive, spiritual, adaptable, dreamy, idealistic, imaginative, mysterious, open-minded, just to name a few. So take a page out of my Piscean playbook and find a way to use these traits to make it through the day.  Ultimately we are in control of how we think, speak, and act. If you need help controlling your mind, words, or actions, please consider working with me. Together we can create positive thought patterns, using our words in an empowering way, and take some risks to design your life.
Choose Generosity

The Generosity Skirt that is! (You can also choose the Generosity Dress if you prefer one piece over wearing two). What makes this piece so remarkable you may ask? Well, besides the high waist, hidden pocket pouch, and voluminous skirt for you to twirl all day in, it can be worn casually with sneakers, edgy with boots, or elegantly with a stiletto. You can also have it made in any fabric or color you want (or you can just have it the original cotton twill fabric in white, as long as supplies last). Book a Style Session in person or via video chat to discuss the details so you can feel super generous in yours as soon as possible. Everything is made to order, so you can have what you want. It is my way of being generous with the people of this world, but respecting the planet in the process, as retail is one of the most harmful to the environment. Zero Waste is part of my philosophy, therefore all the fabric purchased will be used to make this style until it is all gone. All remaining fabric will be used to make a one of a kind piece, or donated to local fashion institutions. Be generous and indulge yourself. You deserve it, and you are worthy. This way you don't have to choose between the environment and fashion. Also, with each purchase from TAOS, a portion goes back to the fight against cancer, so you're a generous giver, too.

TAOS Gallery Showcase featuring Riccardo Lanciotto Magris

Please join us this Saturday March 15th (my birthday) from 19-22 to unleash your consciousness. Riccardo Lanciotto Magris, also known as RLM, was born in Florence in 1971 and is the son of Roberto Magris, the founder of the avant-garde architectural movement Superstudio in the 1970s. RLM graduated in architecture from the University of Florence. From his early teenage years, he discovered his passion for painting, taking inspiration mainly from the art movements of the 1980s such as “Neo Geo,” “The Pictures Generations,” “Neo-Expressionism,” “Street Art,” and “Graffiti.” Moreover, the 1980s were a period of increasing capitalism and global political upheavals, characterized by new fashion trends, the development of pop, hip hop, rap, and electronic music. These years, marked by significant historical events such as the fall of the Berlin Wall, the Chernobyl explosion, and the end of the Cold War, had a strong impact on the generation of artists who grew up during that time, particularly on RLM. Riccardo Lanciotto Magris has lived, traveled, and worked in Florence, Milan, Zurich, Munich, London, and Berlin, cities that have profoundly influenced him artistically, thanks to encounters with various artists, including Luca Matti, Andrea Granchi, Roberto Barni, and the chameleon-like Robert Grigorov. RLM has participated in various exhibitions, both solo and group shows, both nationally and internationally. With his exhibition, Unleashing Consciousness, we discover him in all his expressive forms, which have as a common denominator the target of awakening the observer’s soul, taking him down to the very roots of creation, into primordiality, and guiding him towards aware - ness. In each of his works, one can simultaneously feel delicacy and strength, light and colors, joy and deep introspection. Unleashing Consciousness is an explosion of sub- lime creativity, in which Riccardo Lanciotto Magris, connecting with his inner self in a sort of meditative transcendence, manages both consciously and un- consciously to bring it to light with great mastery, transmuting it into something unseen before. The attentive observer, by immersing himself in his works, will therefore be able to penetrate and discover that typical genius of the great artists who have marked artistic movements such as informal art, abstract expressionism, conceptual art, both contemporary and 20th century. Come celebrate art and life (and mine specifically). ;)

The Substitute & The Substitute Society

Life can be challenging, but The Substitute can help cope with these challenges. By channeling our emotions and feelings through the breath, we simply can learn to relax our nervous system. It is physiologically impossible for our bodies to be in a state of distress when the breath is calm. Don't believe me? Just try it. Take a deep inhale and exhale. Do it until you feel calm. It usually just takes a few breaths to regulate our nerves. Now, of course, you can do this on your own. However, The Substitute is your friendly reminder to just breathe when the going gets tough. You see, we really don't realize how much we are holding the breath, causing the body to be uneasy. The body needs oxygen to function properly. And the more that we can give the body what it needs, the better it functions. Consciously breathing not only raises your awareness and consciousness, but cures most emotional, mental, and physical problems. So if you, or someone you know is struggling emotionally, mentally, or physically in this world, give The Substitute a try. There is no tobacco, no toxins, simply air, so you can use it anywhere. Just breathe. Join The Substitute Society. The Substitute Society is a nonprofit that helps people raise their levels of awareness and consciousness through breathing. It is the silent revolution of peace and love, suggesting an alternative lifestyle, one in which you create the life of your dreams, reduce stress, and cure cancer. Just breathe. Intimate Conversations with Lady Kendra
Join me every Monday at 21 CET on Instagram Live as I talk about life and such. This is my way to have a conversation with the world about some subjects that may be taboo or touchy. For me, there is no such thing. Please feel free to leave a comment or ask a question. This week I talked about seizing the moment and next week I will discuss magic. Be a part of the conversation in person from 19-21 at The Art of Style (reservations required) and follow the journey @kendraleonard...
Mindfulness & Movement
I also invite you to join me every Wednesday morning from 10-11 am as I share my mediation and yoga practice with the community. This is a safe space where all are welcome. No experience is required. For March, the focus is on the solar plexus, which is directly linked to your sense of self. This energy center is associated with your self-esteem, sense of purpose, personal identity, individual will, digestion, and metabolism.  This chakra acts as the body’s energy powerhouse. When spinning properly, the solar plexus chakra allows energy to flow, but if it becomes blocked or clogged, you may find yourself feeling powerless, stagnant, or quick to anger. When it is out of alignment, digestive issues can arise. But when the solar plexus chakra is in healthy alignment, you will be comfortable with your own inherent power and become more empowered. You will have a sense of who you are and why you are here. When you connect with your purpose, you gain a deeper understanding of how you as an individual can contribute to the collective in a beneficial way. This is the Age of Aquarius after all -be an authentic individual, and show up for your community. You will let go of the things—whether it’s your job or bank account balance—that you depend on to define who you are. Those things may have value, but overvaluing anything that subject to change is a quick road to suffering. You have inherent value; take the time through practice to investigate it, and you will be less dependent on external sources of happiness. Come with an open heart and mind, and feel your body unwind. Love yourself.
