Ah, that magnificent feeling of happiness. We all know that feeling- when something wonderful happens, when we see/spend time with those we love, even when unexpected feelings arise for unknown reasons. We cherish these moments as they fill us up with meaning and joy, a feeling that we can take on the world and do anything our little heart desires. On this day, I encourage you to tap into states of happiness. Find what it is that makes you happy and do more of it. Find the people that light you up inside and spend more time with them. Brene Brown has this wonderful analogy about candles and relationships. She says 'you've got this flame, and this is your spirit, and this is your soul, and this is your light, and sometimes it will shine really, really bright, and you want to surround yourself with people who, when it is shining bright, think, 'wow, what a beautiful light.' And you want to be the type of friend that when people's lights are shining bright, you can say can say 'man, that's a great light.' And you want friends who protect your light. We don't want to surround ourselves with candle blower outers.' Remember this as you head into the end of the busiest time of year, and keep your light shining bright, regardless of others. This will help keep you happier, more content, and full of joy regardless of what may come your way. Choose happiness today. |
