It's National Hugging Day!

It's National Hugging Day!

Go hug someone.

Did you know?

You need four hugs a day to survive. Eight hugs a day maintain. Twelve hugs a day to grow. Are you thriving or barely surviving? On this day last year (because I was so hug deprived per my usual quota) I almost made a sign and carried it to the center of Florence saying 'free hugs' but on my determined walk there, I reconsidered my decision. I thought it might not be wise to put myself in that kind of a situation, with all these handsy Italian men. Although I'm not getting nearly enough hugs these days, I do make the attempt to see people everyday that I can embrace. Otherwise, I was taught during the pandemic that you can always hug yourself. Because you also can't get a hug without giving one in return, and that feels good. This year I'm spending this day with one of my best friends in Bologna (we originally met in Raleigh 9 years ago), so I'm going to spend the day hugging her. I encourage you to make a grand effort everyday to get some physical affection from a friend or lover. We are all physically deprived these days, having to make up for covid times, but physical love/touch is important. There was a disturbing study done in the 1940's at an orphanage where 25 infants were given food and changed, but never given any physical love, affection, or eye contact. They all died. ALL OF THEM. We are physical human beings. We are meant to be loved and touched (with respect and healthy boundaries, of course). Find someone to hug.

Do you need someone to talk to about love or lack thereof?

Consider scheduling a session with me. I can help you on the road to loving yourself and finding someone to love in the process, if that is what you desire. We are all deserving of love and this is a basic human need. Or if you've been looking for love in all the wrong places and need help breaking your pattern, it can help to talk things through with someone. If you are a someone who is not a touchy feely person, it may behoove you to explore where those feelings came from. Rape and trauma are issues that must be dissected so that you can heal and move forward with your life in a healthy way. That means coming to terms with the past so you can confidently live in the present moment to have a vibrant future full of all the love you are meant to experience in this life. If you need help making love, giving love, or receiving love, a session or two may do your body good. Let me know if you want to talk...

Find yourself through compassion and self love

Join me for three days in Florence, Italy on a Transformative Experience and learn how to love all aspects of yourself. Each month I invite seven people to follow me on an exploration of the self. We dig deep into the past and discover your inner child and shadow, then learn to embrace them so that you can heal from what you did not receive while you were growing up, while taking responsibility for yourself as an adult. We must heal in order to transform. Once you learn how to accept and release all that no longer serves you, we will look at your current situation and in every aspect of your lives to see where you can grow and improve and take the necessary steps to create the ultimate life of your dreams. You do deserve that which you desire. After two full days of healing and transformation, you will discover how to put these ideas into action to manifest the vision that you have created. The last day will allow you freedom and flexibility to formulate your future. If you are having a hard time embodying your authentic self, need assistance in discovering exactly what it is you truly want, or how to achieve what you want in this life, enroll in a Transformative Experience. The next group sessions are set for March 21-23, April 18-20, and May 16-18. Individual Sessions are available- pick your dates and have a custom tailored experience.

The Substitute

Sometimes smoking can feel like you are inhaling a great big hug, but I can assure you, you're not. It's really the breath you crave. When you take a really deep and long breath, it feels good, cause it is the only thing that calms down the nervous system. It also reduces stress, anxiety, depression, suppresses your appetite, lowers your blood pressure, relieves pain, improves immunity, increases energy, improves digestion and contributes to a good night's sleep. The Substitute is a tool to help you remember to just take a breath. You don't realize how much you're not actually breathing, but holding everything in. We are meant to release, and the breath is the easiest form to do so. I'm on a mission to save the world, one breath at a time. No tobacco. No toxins. Simply air. Just breathe.
