Let me tell you a story...

(It's tell a story day)

Coming Full Circle
This week I had a meeting with someone I used to work at Banana Republic (BR) 15 years ago. We picked up right where we left off and as we were catching up on life, she proceeded to tell me that she had started working for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) a few months prior. I was in shock, cause as many of you know, my husband died of leukemia 14 years ago, and the fact that she was working there now, struck a cord in me. She was doing fundraising for Light the Night- a national walk me and my team at Banana Republic and The Art of Style participated in to remember those that we've lost, who've been diagnosed, or those who have survived. This was the beginning of my fundraising journey with LLS that would eventually lead to me raising over $100,000 through my store, over the decade that I had it. She continued to tell me that my favorite boss from BR also has been working at LLS for over five years, along with his boss, too. All of these Banana Republicans had started working for LLS and I was brought to tears. The reason for our conversation was that she had asked me to speak to her class (she was a professor now, too) about my journey and how I got to be where I am right now. So we hopped on a video call to go over the specifics. Even though I was already looking forward to speaking about my story, I felt an extra connection with LLS and my previous colleagues at BR. Funny how life brings you around full circle. You never know where life is going to take you or who it will bring back into your life. And now, who knows what's next?!
Speaking Engagements

One of my favorite things to do is speak for audiences of people. I've been told I'm pretty inspiring by most, and I do love when my vulnerability allows me to help others. If you, or someone you know needs a keynote speaker for an event, please consider contacting me. I have spoken on many stages for multiple audiences and custom tailor my approach to the team of people I am serving. Whether it be about my books, business, courage, death, mindfulness, parenting, or sex, I encourage open minds and an open discussion. You can check out my Creative Mornings speech and my Tedx Talk online or tune in weekly for Intimate Conversations on Instagram Live.

THE SUBSTITUTE

As a child, I always said I was going to find a cure to cancer. This was before one of my best friend's died in middle school of leukemia, followed by my husband years later. THE SUBSTITUTE does not discriminate. It is my cure to all cancers, as I believe that negative emotions stored in the body can manifest into dis-ease and discomfort. The beautiful thing about THE SUBSTITUTE is that it has no tobacco, no toxins, simply air, which means you can use it anywhere- think hospitals, offices, treatment rooms, etc. If we all took sometime to just breathe, we could reduce our own stress, anxiety, depression, pain, tension, blood pressure, and heart rate, without the need for pills. Try it now for only $20 and get free international shipping. With each purchase, a portion of the proceeds will continue to go to the fight against cancer. Please feel free to make a contribution to our charitable arm, The Substitute Society.

Join me every Monday at 9pm CET on Instagram Live as I talk about life and such. This is my way to have a conversation with the world about some subjects that may be taboo or touchy. For me, there is no such thing. Please feel free to leave a comment or ask a question. This week I talked about adjusting and next week I'll talk about settling. Be a part of the conversation and follow the journey @kendraleonard.
