Love yourself!

Let the celebration of love begin!

Today is a wonderful day to start loving on yourself if you don't already have a self-love practice. Yes, today is Valentine's Day and there is no better day to put yourself first and take care of numero uno. Of course, if you have a significant other, give them plenty of love, too, but loving, my friend, starts with you... So, on this day I wanted to share with you some tips you can take to create a more loving relationship with yourself. 1. start a gratitude journal (nothing says love more that thanks) 2. give yourself a compliment (speak to yourself as you would a friend) 3. practice mindfulness (be present in the moment) 4. celebrate your successes (big and small) 5. limit your time on social media (stop comparing yourself to others) 6. be authentic (and love who you are at your core) 7. be honest with yourself (lying to yourself is only hurting you) 8. trust your intuition (your inner guidance knows what's good for you) 9. quiet your inner critic (it can get the best of you if you let it- don't). 10. embrace solitude (being independent builds confidence) 11. treat yourself (whatever makes you feel special- massage, clothes, a trip, etc.) 12. express yourself freely (dance, speak your mind, be comfortable just simply being yourself- no filters) 13. set healthy boundaries (your time and energy are precious commodities, don't waste them) 14. protect yourself (from people, places, or things that make you uncomfortable) 15. forgive yourself (be compassionate with yourself)

Need help practicing self love?
If you or someone you know needs help incorporating a self-care/love routine, consider scheduling a session with me. The world is full of distractions, and we must make ourselves a priority in order to get through all the madness. The more self love you have, the more you know what you think, feel, and want, which then in turn allows you to give your love and energy freely with others that you interact with. Practicing self love is just that, a practice, so it can take some time getting used to, but I promise all will benefit from you loving yourself first. Try it...
TheSubstitute
One of the ways you can love on yourself is to take some time for yourself in solitude and simply breathe. The Substitute can help you remember to just take a a breath of fresh air when things get stressful, or anxiety starts to creep in. It is a healthy alternative to use instead of smoking, and you can use it anywhere- bars, restaurants, clubs, airplanes, trains, taxis, school, church, work, wherever. No tobacco. No toxins. Simply air. It also helps reduce depression, blood pressure, heart rate, pain, increases calm, energy levels, immunity, muscles, aids in digestion, improves sleeping habits, posture, stamina, cell regeneration, enhances cognitive function, releases tension, detoxifies the body, strengthens the lungs, assists in weight control, and enhances moods. Just breathe.
